This zipping utility offers better compression than WinZip although it is a little slower.

This is a graphical avipreview. It doesn't seem to work very well when the file is missing the header i.e. there is no codec or frame size detection, but it gives you the ability to play the .avi within the program if it can decode some of the frames.

AviPreview by Funkster

This version of avipreview is completely command line based. It requires a little more skill with computers than the other version, but it performs far better on files that are missing headers. AviPreview can be used with the eDwatch GUI to preview your files.

Daemon Tools

This is used to mount CD images to a virtual CDROM drive so that you do not need to burn the image in order to utilize the CD that it represents.

ED2K File Maker

This allows you to create ed2k links and .ed2k files for use with the eDonkey Firefox Extension.

eDonkey Firefox Extension

This allows you to download ed2k enabled files and normal http downloads using eDonkey. See the homepage for more information.

FFDShow

An all in one decoder for DivX and XViD. Just grab the newest release.

GSpot

If you're having troubles figuring out which codec you're missing this program will be your new best friend. It tells you the exact codec used for both audio and video. It also checks to see if they are already installed on your system.

MetFileRegenerator

Used to regenerate .part.met files if they are corrupted or lost. Supports new style .part files as well.

Transfer Manager

Another video preview utility. This one uses a program to read the metadata of a download and compile the downloaded parts into a single file which is then passed to VirtualDub for reconstruction/preview.

VideoLAN Client

Can play just about any type of video. Great for solving codec problems or for playing your videos.
